Fokus · Terms of use
These terms cover the Fokus iPhone app and comefokus.com, provided by e11s UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Karl-Liebknecht-Str 21, 10178 Berlin, Germany. Using either means accepting them.
An app that blocks apps you choose, using Apple's Screen Time, and gives that time back in exchange for planning it can verify against your calendar. It is currently in testing and is offered free of charge.
Fokus is not a medical device. It makes no diagnostic or treatment claims and is not a substitute for professional advice about attention, mental health or anything else. It does not ask whether you have a diagnosis and does not store one.
Fokus is not a safety system. Do not rely on it to prevent phone use in any situation where phone use would be dangerous.
Fokus is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. In particular, it cannot promise that blocking always holds. It is built on Apple's Screen Time framework and runs partly in system-launched extensions, so an iOS update, a permission revoked, a device restore, or a fault in the app itself can all leave apps unblocked. The app records what its blocking actually did, and you can read that log yourself in Settings.
To the fullest extent the law allows, e11s UG is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of Fokus — including anything you did or did not do while it was or was not blocking. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Covered separately and in detail on the privacy page. In short: your plans stay on your phone, there is no account, and the only things that leave are ones you switch on.
Delete the app and it's over; your data goes with it. Access may be withdrawn if these terms are broken, and since Fokus is in testing, features may change or be removed without notice.
German law applies, and the courts of Berlin have jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you a different right that cannot be contracted away.
